As somebody new to Columbia still, I decided to check this restaurant out after thinking Columbia was doomed when it came to Chinese delivery after endless horrible experiences with Jingo's taking more than 2 hours to get you the food (delivery or in-store, doesn't matter). Reading older reviews had me a little worried, but I was pleasantly surprised. They tell you 45-55 minutes, but the longest I've waited has been 30 minutes. The food was hot and the proportions of the dinner meals is huge. You can split one dinner with rice and add an appetizer for a complete meal. They also don't rip you off and charge you 1.50 for a can of soda like most Chinese delivery I've had, they have bottles that are reasonably priced. If they had problems in the past, they've fixed them. I have yet to go into their store so I can't review the building, but their delivery has been amazing the last few weeks since finding this place.

Fast, good Chinese-American food. In particular, I recommend their roast pork dishes; the hot, braised chicken chunks; the pepper steak with onions; and their Springfield-style cashew chicken, (which is listed on their menu as "Chicken with Cashew Nuts (Deep Fried)." Note that adding a packet of soy sauce to the gravy that comes with the cashew chicken makes it much more flavorful. Also of note is the crab rangoon and the boneless spare ribs.

This is my personal favorite Chinese food joint around these parts. I've tried all the others in and around como, and these guys are cheaper, and taste consistently better, plus have more options. Just a solid choice

Formosa has reinvented themselves! The food is always good and arrives to us hot and fresh. For the folks complaining about the cashew chicken - order stir fried - Sounds like you're getting "Springfield style" which IS indeed nasty no matter where you get it from

Right from the start there was some confusion finding them because their address led to a strip mall with a place called "China Star" on the front. After a quick phone call from the parking lot they cleared it up explaining they were both. The interior was clean and tidy, staff wore masks and some latex gloves also. There are a couple of booths and chairs at a bar for dining in, however none were taken during my visit. There was a lot of take out and delivery traffic, which clearly is their primary business. The menu was expansive with plenty of "American style" dishes next to obviously authentic Chinese fare. You'll definitely find things you're used to seeing next to other things to experiment. Even though they were busy, my order only took 15 minutes. You have the option of also ordering online and paying in advance for either pick up or store based home delivery via their website. Parking out front was ample, with handicapped spots near the door with curb ramps. I admit I was hoping to find a dining experience but the quality of the food i brought home was superb and delicious. It was packed nicely and everything was still hot. Highly recommend

This is my "go to" Chinese restaurant. The service is very quick and the price is super reasonable plus it's upstairs with a great view of Broadway even though it is south facing so if you go in the middle of the day I could see the sun being an issue. I always get the lunch special, deep fried cashew chicken if I'm on a cheat day but usually just the chicken an broccoli which they can make steamed or in any sauce you want. It comes with a soup and a side for only 5.25. Again super reasonable. If you looking for more traditional Chinese food I'd recommend the beef noodle soup or the Szechuan boiled fish/beef but be warned for the latter you must have a high tolerance for spicy food. I enjoyed the boiled fish so much I went home to look for recipes online and found some sites referring to it as the "Outlaw Chinese Dish" I really feel this place cant miss. If you're downtown and just looking for a quick lunch or dinner at a good price this is your place but also if you're out out on the town and want to impress your friends with your knowledge of traditional Chinese cuisine and perhaps your high tolerance for spicy food then you cant go wrong here!

Nestled conveniently at 3301 W Broadway Business Park Ct ste d, this establishment has quickly garnered praise from locals and newcomers alike. With a reputation for speedy delivery and generous portions, Formosa promises an experience that exceeds expectations.

As a food reviewer navigating the diverse dining landscape, I was particularly drawn to the rave reviews highlighting the restaurant’s efficient service. Customers have noted that their food typically arrives within 30 minutes, much quicker than competitors, and is delivered hot and fresh. This reliability is a significant selling point, especially for those weary after previous long waits for mediocre meals.

But it’s not just the speed that impresses; the flavors at Formosa are nothing short of delightful. Diners have applauded their chicken dishes, which span a variety of cooking methods, from stir-fries to crispy preparations. The high marks for the hot and sour soup and crab rangoon show that this menu caters to every craving. For a more substantial meal, the pepper steak and specially prepared Springfield-style cashew chicken have received notable mentions for their robust flavors. Personal favorites from customers include the profoundly flavorful roast pork and the boneless spare ribs, making them must-tries on your next visit.

One remarkable aspect that resonates throughout the reviews is the affordability of Formosa. Unlike many takeout options that inflate prices on beverages, this restaurant offers reasonably priced bottled drinks, allowing you to enjoy your meal without feeling overcharged.
